These meditations can be used to help readers and practitioners tap into creativity; discover their inner child; connect with their inner guide; explore the male and female within; and much more. This new edition is nearly twice as long as the previous one, with twice as many meditations; it also includes a new introduction by the author.
Tragedy visits every life. Loss inflicts its toll on every human soul. Grief shatters the very beauty of one's existence. But as deep and as final as these moments seem, somehow, somewhere, hope takes hold. The emergence of hope is small at first, almost imperceptible-a tiny pinprick of light in the fabric of suffocating darkness. Then slowly but surely, there are more moments that string together like stars lighting up the night sky, and darkness gives way to light as the rising sun bursts forth to bring light and hope to the soul. Once again, there is reason to look up. Visual artist Jo-Anne Taraba takes you on a painterly journey through the stages of grief into hope. Beginning with the hollow echo chambers of despair, her images and words trace the delicate but necessary pilgrimage we all must make to return to a place of spiritual peace and inner balance following a tragedy. Included in this book are quotes, words of hope, and a journal for recording your own personal story. Take time to reflect on the images and words, and express your own fears and hopes as you document your unique journey through the darkness and into the light. You have chosen the triumphant moment of your return. It is the book of hope.

Book Spiritual Angelic Meditation with the Archangel Michael Description/Summary:
I enjoy painting art inspired by the world around me. I also enjoy photography and writing. Also, I have always been inspired by spirituality and culture. This painting of the Archangel Michael is part of a series titled "Skulls, Day of the Dead celebration." What is the day of the dead celebration in Latin America? The day of the dead celebration is an integral part of many Latin American cultures. It is celebrated on the last day of October and first two days of November of each year. In those days, people who gather at cemeteries and bring flowers and sometimes food to remember their loved ones who have passed on. This art represents one of my expressions as related to this. I believe this art is highly spiritual. One day, I decided to use this one particular painting of the Archangel Michael to visualize and meditate. And what I did is that I combined it with different parts of my body. I also connected it to the different body chakras. Finally, I brought it into my inner landscape. And it was out of these exercises that this book came to be. I hope you will enjoy the images and meditations in the book.

This book is created as a lingual and visual basis for meditation. The word "God" has a very high frequency, if you see, speak or think it. But please be conscious of the fact, that the word "God" is not God himself or herself. How could a single piece be the ALL, the ABSOLUTE, the ONE himself and herself? It's a word, a sign, a symbol that points in the direction of the nameless ONE that no human being can imagine in its whole universal totality. In this book the pictographs of the word "God" are made of simple forms and colors that don't want to illustrate an image of God. Watching the pictures of this book might disclose a moment and a space for you to meditate and to recall the word "God" (which is connected with the presence of God) in your mind, when you need help or inner peace in your daily life or even in situations of fear or the need for protection. Use this powerful word "God" (that symbolizes the infinity of our nameless und formless creator) when feeling thankful, when feeling happy, as well as in those moments you are feeling afraid, depressed or attacked by negative energies. The frequency of this word as the frequency of the word Jesus Christ" is hard to stand by negative beings. Repeat it, until the negative or dark energy has vanished. No dark or negative being or energy can stand that too long. They have to disappear, in the name of God. Repeating the word "God" activates the love and courage in your heart, where God lives anyway, whether you are conscious of it or not. God is love and light. God is ALL. And even the darkness consists of light in its lowest vibration. Black absorbs light because it has such a low frequency, that it is thirsting for the higher vibrations. Please keep also in mind, that the vibration of the word "God" is connected with the almighty by the will of the almighty, if you truly mean the almighty, when you use it. And also keep in mind, that you can breathe this vibration into your heart and activate the spark of God, that exists as pure mind - pure ghost - inside your heart. Realizing that God's eternal spark is always there inside you, waiting to be released and unfolded and developed, you might appreciate this picture-book just as a reminder of this. The book just tells you: It's already inside your heart. What you see outside yourself as a picture of a word (which is just a pointer), lives actually inside of yourself. God surrounds you, as well as God lives inside you, often fully or partly undiscovered by your consciousness. Remember that you live in God and God lives in you. God is inside you and around you, because there is nothing else but God. You are part of the ALL. The 108 simple artworks of the word God" in this book want to encourage your faith and your believe and your knowledge, that you are a child of God, who is our creator. God is the divine father and he is the divine mother und he is the divine son and he is the divine daughter. God is love and wisdom. Breathe in the pictures with your eyes and breathe in the love of God that is anytime around you. Breathe and live in the power of God, who loves everyone, and who is everyone and everything. God is eternal und God is ALL. This book is just another sign that helps you to remember what you, and what the soul, you truly are, already knew before. You might just have forgotten it for a while. Every time you awake from your sweet sleep you become conscious that we are not separated from the ALL, that we are one with God. May the illusion of being separated vanish by watching und stepping further into every picture of this "Book of God.""
Book Visual Acuity and the Arts of Communication in Early Modern Germany Description/Summary:
During the early modern period, visual imagery was put to ever new uses as many disciplines adopted visual criteria for testing truth claims, representing knowledge, or conveying information. Religious propagandists, political writers, satirists, cartographers, the scientific community, and others experimented with new uses of visual images. Artists, writers, preachers, musicians, and performers, among others, often employed visual images or conjured mental images to connect with their audiences. Contributors to this interdisciplinary collection creatively explore how the exponential growth in images, especially prints, impacted the intellectual horizons and the visual awareness of viewers in early modern Germany. Each of the chapters serves as a case study for one or more of the volume?s sub-themes: art, visual literacy, and strategies of presentation; audience and the art of persuasion; the art of envisioning; the ephemeral arts and theatricality; the built environment and spatial settings; and the history of the visual.
Since the beginning of time, art has been used by cultures throughout the world as a sacred form of expression. Whether in cathedrals as part of the buildings themselves, on clothes worn for celebration or in your favorite coloring book, art can be seen everywhere around us. What makes art sacred is the intent of the artist to create for the highest purpose while ultimately serving the community in which the art is received. "Unlocking Creativity" takes you headfirst into a realm of wonder using vivid imagery and detailed patterns to convey the artist's own spirit of imagination to the reader. Each piece can be used as a form of meditation to relax the mind and expand one's own creativity and can be colored by children and adults alike. Accompanying the pictures are zen quotes written by the artist that express their thoughts and ideas about what art is and concepts about life itself. These tools, along with an open mind, are all that's needed to step toward the path of unlocking creativity.
