The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network)

The INN (Interfaith Nutrition Network) addresses the issues of hunger and homelessness on Long Island by providing food, shelter, long-term housing, and supportive services in a dignified and respectful manner for those who seek our help.  The INN is a not-for-profit, volunteer-based organization with a dedicated staff, a broad base of community support and a commitment to educate the public about these issues. For more information, click here.

 


 

 

Long Island Cares

Because it takes more than food to feed the hungry
Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank is Long Island’s first food bank and one of the region’s most comprehensive hunger action organizations.  Founded in 1980 by the late singer, songwriter and social activist, Harry Chapin, it is led today by his wife and partner Sandy Chapin, a dedicated Board of Directors and talented staff.  The organization provides nutritional food and support services for a network of more than 560 community-based member agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens, emergency shelters, child care programs, senior nutrition sites, disability organizations, veteran’s services and more. Hatzilu

Hatzilu means rescue, and since 1976, Hatzilu has served impoversished Jews throughout Long Island and New York City.  Hatzilu provides cash grants to its beneficiaries to help pay for rent, utilities, medical treatment or other basic needs.  It also maintains the largest kosher food warehouse in Nassau County and provides food to anyone in need who requests it. For more information, click here.

 


 

 

M’Yad L’Yad

M’Yad L’Yad – Long Island’s Helping Hands is dedicated to enhancing the lives of the needy on Long Island based upon the highest ideals of Judaism. Through anonymous pairing of volunteer Sponsors with Recipients, we extend a helping hand to provide not only material assistance, but also ongoing relationships, friendship and dignity. M’Yad L’Yad- Long Island’s Helping Hands is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded in 1998, in response to the growing number of needy living on Long Island. For more information, click here.

Rock CAN Roll is a volunteer, 501c3, non-profit, hunger relief organization and think-tank whose mission is to be a source that CAN restock the shelves of emergency food agencies throughout the nation. Rock CAN Roll collaborates with rock concerts, schools, corporations, and private individuals to collect healthy and nutritious non-perishable food (and essential provisions) for distribution to local emergency food agencies and into the hands of children, men and women who live with hunger and poverty. Rock CAN Roll is always looking for new collaborators, volunteers, supporters and friends to help in our quest to “beat hunger.” For more information, click here.
