Q: What is the address for my GPS?

Q: Where can I park?
A: Free parking is available right across the street in Cantiague Park

Q: Is there an entrance fee?
A: No. However, we do suggest bringing two cans of healthy food per person for the participating food charities. For a list of most needed foods click here.

Q: Do I need to RSVP through the website?
 A: No. You do not need to RSVP to attend the BBQ competition. However, if you do RSVP, you and the guests/family members who are registered with you will receive updates and news about the BBQ and receive special offers such as a free beverage at the event.

Q: Why do I need to RSVP? What if I forget to bring my confirmation with me?
A: RSVPs are not required to attend the LI Kosher BBQ Championship. We are asking people to register so we can better accommodate all our potential guests. Once you RSVP, your information is logged into the system and it can be found by our staff when you arrive should you forget or lose your confirmation.

Q. Who is providing Kosher Supervision?
A.  The entire event is under the strict rabbinical supervision of both Kof-K and Mehadrin Kashrus– Rabbi Abraham Marmorstein.

The KOF-K emblem is the internationally recognized trademark of KOF-K Kosher Supervision, one of the foremost Kosher certification agencies in the United   States. Only products, services and events meeting the strictest standards of Kosher law are permitted to display the symbol, which is protected under Federal law against unauthorized use. When visitors to the LI Kosher BBQ championship see the KOF-K emblem, they know that that the event continuously meets the highest levels of kashrus (Kosher law).

Rabbi Abraham Marmorstein started the Kosher La-Mehadrin hechsher in 1989. He has semicha from Beth Medrash Govoha (Lakewood) and is a member of the National Council of Synagogue Rabbis of Agudath Yisrael. Rabbi Marmorstein is author of Halachos of the Seder, Halachos of Purim, and Bartenura; co-author of Yad Yoledes.

A Mashgiach will be on the premises at all times.

Q: Are there any fees?
A: Participation in the basketball skills competition, the eating contests and the kid’s play zone have fees. The use of the playground, the health care screenings and the live music are free.

Q: Can we eat the food that the other teams prepare?
A: Unfortunately, due to Nassau County’s Department of Health’s rules and regulations, the competitors cannot share their food with the public.

Q: What will be available to eat?
A: The Cowsher Cafe will be offering various foods for purchase. Brisket sandwiches, hot dogs, chicken wraps, veggie burgers, knishes, coleslaw, fruit, ices and beverages will all be on the menu.

Q: What happens if it rains?
A: This is a rain or shine event.

Q: Can I bring my pet?
A: We love pets, but they are not allowed on the grounds. Service animals are permitted.

Q. Is smoking allowed?
A. Smoking is not permitted anywhere on the grounds of the event.
